Zoe Appler           Associate

Zoe Appler is an associate trial attorney who practices civil litigation, concentrating on medical malpractice defense. She represents hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in all aspects of medical malpractice litigation. Prior to joining SBH, Ms. Appler worked at a large Chicago civil defense firm concentrating her practice on medical malpractice, toxic torts, and premises liability defense.

Ms. Appler received her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2022. While in law school, she was a Notes and Comments Editor of the Chicago-Kent Law Review and an active member of the Trial Advocacy Team. While competing for Chicago-Kent, Ms. Appler won multiple regional and national awards, including Baylor Law’s notoriously challenging Top Gun Trial Competition in 2021. She also earned CALI awards for the highest grades in Criminal Law, Trial Evidence, Intensive Trial Advocacy, Criminal Litigation, and Advanced Dispute Resolution in the Workplace.

Ms. Appler received her undergraduate degree in political science from American University in Washington, D.C. In her free time, she volunteers for Chicago-Kent’s Trial Advocacy Team as an Assistant Coach.
