Robert O'Malley        Partner

For more than 25 years, clients have relied on trial attorney Robert O'Malley to represent their interests in professional, product and premises liability, medical and nursing home malpractice, and business litigation matters. Mr. O'Malley has an extensive record of success litigating in these areas, especially in the trial context, and is a trusted advisor for multiple long-term clients.

In Mr. O'Malley's medical and nursing home negligence litigation practice, he defends hospitals, long-term care facilities and nursing homes and healthcare providers in a range of complex matters. Recently, he obtained a jury verdict on behalf of a hospital in a $10 million-plus wrongful death case after the plaintiff had undergone hip replacement surgery. Mr. O'Malley represents a group of community-based hospitals in the Chicago area as well as nursing homes, physical therapy clinics, long-term care facilities, and specialty hospitals.

Within the product liability context, Mr. O'Malley has particularly deep experience handling medical device and pharmaceutical matters and serves as National Trial Counsel for a generic pharmaceutical manufacturer. He also served as National Counsel for a multinational latex glove manufacturer, coordinating his client's litigation across the country. Numerous clients turn to Mr. O'Malley for claims involving contract disputes; construction equipment; home improvement power tools; and consumer goods such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, water craft, motorcycles, and printing presses.

Mr. O'Malley has assumed firm leadership roles on multiple firm committees throughout his career.

Mr. O'Malley is married and has three children.
