Samantha LaFata Partner
Samantha N. LaFata is a litigation attorney who focuses her area of practice in medical malpractice defense, representing hospitals, physicians, nurses, managed care organizations, and other healthcare providers. Her experience ranges from defense of healthcare providers in cases involving complex injuries to claims brought by regulatory commissions. Ms. LaFata has acted as lead and co-counsel at trials, pre-trials and mediations. She has drafted and argued substantive motions involving complicated legal issues and pre-trial evidentiary rulings. Ms. LaFata has spoken on a wide array of issues, including deposition preparation, the lawsuit process, and Medicare. She has also served as a trial team coach for law schools in the Chicago area.
Ms. LaFata earned her B.S., summa cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago in 2002. She subsequently earned her J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 2007. In law school, Ms. LaFata was chosen to intern at the Attorney General’s Office in Dublin, Ireland and competed nationally in mock trial advocacy placing in various competitions.
