Gretchen Powell Partner
Gretchen “Greta” Powell is a trial attorney who concentrates her practice in the representation of hospitals, physicians and healthcare providers in professional negligence matters.
Ms. Powell is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society. She also lends her litigation experience to law students in The John Marshall Law School’s Trial Advocacy Program, which has been recognized as one of the top 20 Trial Advocacy Programs in the nation, by coaching student teams in mock trial competitions at the local, regional and national level.
In 2015, Ms. Powell was named an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers. (The distinction of being named an “Emerging Lawyer” is reserved for the top 2% of Illinois lawyers who are 40 years old or younger and have been identified by their peers as proving themselves to be professional, ethical and experienced at an early point in their legal career).
Ms. Powell also has experience as a professional speaker for Monster Worldwide’s Making It Count Programs (a division of Monster.com).
Ms. Powell received her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2012. While in law school, she served as the Presiding Barrister of the Trial Advocacy & Dispute Resolution Honors Board, and participated in several national mock trial competitions, taking first place in the Texas Young Lawyers Advocacy tournament.
