Lauren Scalzo

Lauren Scalzo concentrates her practice in medical malpractice defense and represents health care providers in complex matters. Prior to joining SBH, she worked as a Plaintiff’s personal injury attorney where she specialized in medical negligence, motor vehicle collisions, and toxic torts. She began her legal career practicing insurance defense, where she first-chaired over 85 jury trials to verdict and conducted hundreds of depositions.

Ms. Scalzo received her Law Degree from Michigan State University College of Law in 2013. She was a selected member of the Geoffrey Feiger Trial Practice Institute, a two-year civil and criminal trial program offering hands on litigation experience.  She was a member of MSU Law Mock Trial Team and a semi-finalist in two mock trial competitions.

During law school, Ms. Scalzo served as a summer extern for the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office in its Trial Division. She also served as a summer extern for the Honorable Nancy Smith, New York Appellate Court Division, Fourth District. Ms. Scalzo earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English Journalism from the University of Rochester. She is licensed to practice law in New York and Illinois.
