SBH attorneys Mark Smith and Randy Brill successfully defended a urogynecologist in a medical negligence trial. The plaintiff alleged the defendant physician performed surgery to correct pelvic organ prolapse when it was not indicated. As a result, the plaintiff claimed permanent damages, including loss of a normal life, and pain and suffering. Throughout trial, the jury heard from several treating physicians and a number of expert witnesses. At the close of evidence, the Plaintiff asked the jury to award her a six-figure verdict. After several hours of deliberation, the jury found the urogynecologist not liable.
